HISTORY

In 1987, Mike Arnold SR. founded Space Maker Designs, Inc. as a new material handling equipment distributor. Jim Arnold began working at SMD in 1988 and purchased the company from his Father in 1993. Jim saw the potential in adding used equipment to the arsenal so he relocated SMD into its current 56,000 Sq. Ft. manufacturing facility and soon began buying and selling used equipment in addition to new. It didn’t take long for SMD to expand again to offer refurbished products. So a powder-coat paint line as well as two baked on enamel paint lines where installed. In 1999 SMD expanded yet again and began private labeling our own brand of Teardrop Rack and began manufacturing the Space maker Adjustable Rack Repair Kit with a 10-year warranty against damage to the kit. In 2018, Jim's eldest son and our Operations Manager, Spencer Arnold joined the SMD team and in 2022 Jim’s youngest son,  Zach Arnold  joined the team as well. For almost 40 years now the Arnold Family and Space Maker Designs have been providing quality warehouse and material handling solutions throughout Texas and all over the United States. As mentioned before our refurbishing process includes a million[1]dollar powder coat paint line, baked on enamel paint line, as well as a full fabrication department. Space Maker Designs, Inc. can provide used, refurbished, or new Selective Style Rack, Cantilever Rack, Structural Drive-In Rack, Push-back rack and all types of high-density rack. Refurbished and Used Racks cost much less than new and the shipping time is much faster. However when new is required, Space Maker Designs, Inc. also manufactures or distributes New Teardrop Pallet Rack, Wire Decks and Mezzanines making Space Maker Designs, Inc. your true "Turn-key" solution regardless of your specifications.
